Be More Human

What is the essence of being human?

Connect.
Create.
Experience.

To connect with other people. To create something that didn't exist before. To experience life — presence, meaning, joy.

Everything else is processing.

Over decades, work has pushed us further from this essence. Admin, scheduling, data entry, reporting, chasing, formatting, filing — we've become processors who occasionally get to be human. AI changes this. Not by replacing us, but by handling the processing so we can return to what actually matters.

Two Sides of the Same Coin

These two frameworks are inverse pyramids. As AI integration expands upward, human essence expands with it. The more intelligently you integrate AI, the less processing you do. The less processing you do, the more space you have for what actually matters — connecting, creating, and experiencing.

Level 3 is the pivot point — where automation creates breathing room, and the shift from doing to being begins.

AI Integration

Human Essence

AI Level 5Vibe Coding

You and AI are creative partners. You build tools, design systems, and solve problems together. This is co-creation — the highest expression of human-AI collaboration.

Human Level 5Co-Creator

You're operating at your highest potential. AI handles the how; you focus on the why. You connect deeply, create freely, and experience life fully.

AI Level 4Agentic AI

AI agents manage multi-step projects. You set the direction, review the output, and focus on the decisions that matter. Your role shifts from doing to directing.

Human Level 4Directing

You're no longer in the weeds. You direct AI agents, focus on relationships, and lead with vision. Your work becomes more meaningful.

AI Level 3Workflow Automation

This is where everything changes. AI handles routine tasks automatically — follow-ups, data entry, scheduling, reporting. You start to breathe. Time opens up for thinking, connecting, creating.

Human Level 3Breathing Room

The shift happens here. With automation handling the routine, you finally have space. Space to think strategically. Space to connect with people. Space to be human.

AI Level 2Connectors & Custom Data

AI is connected to your documents, CRM, or internal data. It gives better, more relevant answers — but you're still the one doing the work with those answers.

Human Level 2Informed

AI gives you better information and saves time on research. But the workload is the same — you're still the bottleneck for everything.

AI Level 1The Chatbot

You're using ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar tools for quick answers and drafting. It's helpful, but every conversation starts from scratch. You're doing all the heavy lifting.

Human Level 1Opening

You've started using AI, but you're still drowning in tasks. The potential is there, but the day-to-day hasn't changed much yet.

The Human Essence Triad

When the busywork falls away, three dimensions of being human come into focus. This is what AI makes space for.

Connect

relationships · empathy · collaboration · leadership · community · trust

Create

ideas · innovation · strategy · art · design · problem-solving · vision

Experience

presence · meaning · joy · learning · growth · adventure · rest

What Doesn't Belong Here

Processing. Scheduling. Data entry. Report formatting. Invoice chasing. Email sorting. Status updates. These are necessary tasks — but they are not human essence. They are the tax we pay for participating in modern work.

AI pays that tax for us. The better integrated it is, the less tax we pay, and the more we get to be human.

And when a role can be fully automated? That's not a loss. It means a person was being asked to act like a computer — data entry, copy-paste, rules-based processing. That was never human work.

The real question isn't “what jobs will AI take?” It's “what does the world look like when humans stop acting like computers?”

The Deeper Truth About AI

AI amplifies human intent. That's it.

AI is not good or evil — it amplifies whatever is put into it. Intent can be empathetic and inclusive, or it can be divisive and destructive. AI doesn't choose. Humans do.

This is where “be more human” stops being a tagline and becomes a personal invitation. If AI amplifies who you are, then the question every individual and every organisation needs to ask is:

What do I stand for? How do I act? What is my human essence?

And when that gets amplified — individually or as a collective — do I like where we're heading?

The fear of AI is really a fear of amplified human nature. The answer isn't to restrict the amplifier. The answer is to do the work on what's being amplified.

Ready to Be More Human?

The goal of AI isn't to automate everything. It's to automate enough that you can return to being human — the connections you build, the things you create, and the experiences that make life worth living.
